The Perched Villages

Built between the 11th and 12th centuries, the villages located on top of a mountain relief are an absolute must to visit to enjoy the beauty of the Drôme. These villages were built primarily for military reasons, the altitude enabled them to see the Saracens from afar. The buildings, chapels, walls and other historic buildings have been preserved and some have been restored. It is a real journey back in time through the most beautiful villages of France (Marsanne, Mirmande, Cliousclat, Autichamp, Poet-Laval, etc.)
