The Dr\u00f4me<\/strong> is a dream destination for wine and nature enthusiasts. With prestigious appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Vinsobres, and Grignan-les-Adh\u00e9mar<\/strong>, this region offers a sensory journey through vineyards with diverse landscapes, between the Rh\u00f4ne Valley and Proven\u00e7al hills.<\/p>\n

This itinerary has been designed to allow for a pleasant stay from our camping in the Dr\u00f4me<\/a>, in Marsanne, by organizing discovery days of the vineyards while limiting travel. You will discover large wine estates, exceptional wine tastings, as well as sublime landscapes and delicious local cuisine.<\/p>\n

Wine route itinerary<\/h2>\n

Day 1: The Great Wines of the Rh\u00f4ne Valley – Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage<\/h3>\n

On the first day, head to Tain-l’Hermitage<\/strong>, located about 70 km from Camping Les Bastets<\/strong>, or 50 minutes by car<\/strong>. This town is the birthplace of some of the most prestigious appellations of the Rh\u00f4ne Valley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Start with a walk on the Hermitage hill<\/strong>, which offers a magnificent view of the terraced vineyards<\/strong> plunging down towards the Rh\u00f4ne. This unique terroir gives birth to wines of great finesse<\/strong>, known worldwide.<\/p>\n

Next, enjoy a visit and tasting at Maison M. Chapoutier<\/strong>, a reference in the Hermitage appellation. This iconic estate offers a discovery of grape varieties and winemaking techniques<\/strong>. Then, head to the Cave de Tain<\/strong>, where you can deepen your knowledge with an introduction to tasting Crozes-Hermitage wines<\/strong>, which are more accessible but equally captivating.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, stop by Domaine Paul Jaboulet A\u00een\u00e9<\/strong>, famous for its renowned cuv\u00e9e “La Chapelle”<\/strong>, an exceptional wine that embodies the region’s craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

After this beautiful day, return to Camping Les Bastets for a relaxing evening in nature.<\/p>\n

Day 2: Saint-Joseph and the Landscapes of the Dr\u00f4me<\/h3>\n

On the second day, head northwest to Saint-P\u00e9ray and Cornas<\/strong>, about 60 km from Camping Les Bastets<\/strong>, or 50 minutes by car<\/strong>. These appellations, less known than Hermitage, offer wines with great aromatic richness.<\/p>\n

Start the morning with a visit to Domaine Alain Voge<\/strong>, specializing in red wines from Cornas and sparkling whites from Saint-P\u00e9ray<\/strong>. Here, you will discover characterful wines, crafted with care and respect for the terroir.<\/p>\n

After the tasting, go for a small hike on the heights of Vercors<\/strong>. This viewpoint offers an exceptional panorama of the Rh\u00f4ne Valley and the surrounding vineyards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For lunch, settle in a wine bistro in Tournon-sur-Rh\u00f4ne<\/strong>, where you can enjoy local specialties<\/strong> such as Ard\u00e8che charcuterie, Dauphin\u00e9 ravioli, and Picodon, a delicious goat cheese.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, head to Domaine Coursodon<\/strong>, one of the references of the Saint-Joseph<\/strong> appellation. This red wine, mainly made from Syrah<\/strong>, is known for its elegance and spicy aromas. End the day with a walk along the banks of the Rh\u00f4ne or a visit to the Ch\u00e2teau de Tournon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Day 3: The Dr\u00f4me Proven\u00e7ale – Vinsobres and Grignan-les-Adh\u00e9mar<\/h3>\n

For the final day, head to discover the wines of Dr\u00f4me Proven\u00e7ale<\/strong>, starting with Vinsobres<\/strong>, about 50 km from Camping Les Bastets<\/strong>, or 50 minutes by car<\/strong>. This appellation exclusively produces powerful and elegant red wines<\/strong>, perfect for fans of full-bodied wines.<\/p>\n

The morning begins with a visit to Domaine Jaume<\/strong>, one of the pioneers of the AOC Vinsobres<\/strong>. After a great tasting, stop by Nyons<\/strong>, famous for its black olives and AOP olive oil<\/strong>. It\u2019s the perfect opportunity to discover another local craft and bring home some regional products.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, head to Grignan<\/strong>, about 30 km from Nyons<\/strong> (35 minutes by car<\/strong>). This village is dominated by the majestic Ch\u00e2teau de Madame de S\u00e9vign\u00e9<\/strong>. Before visiting this Renaissance jewel, enjoy a gourmet lunch at Clair de la Plume<\/strong>, a Michelin-starred restaurant that highlights local products.<\/p>\n

To end this wonderful day, stop at Ch\u00e2teau de la Borie<\/strong>, a certified organic vineyard<\/strong> producing fine and balanced wines under the Grignan-les-Adh\u00e9mar<\/strong> appellation.<\/p>\n
