Unique Activities in the Dr\u00f4me for Families and Children<\/h2>\n

Here are some local places you can visit with your children<\/strong> during your stay at our campsite in the Dr\u00f4me<\/a> over a weekend or longer.<\/p>\n

The Pierrelatte Crocodile Farm<\/h3>\n

This farm located deep in the Dr\u00f4me is a rich and captivating nature park<\/strong>. In addition to crocodiles, you can admire turtles, lizards and many species of birds, as well as tropical plants and large trees.<\/p>\n

Le Palais id\u00e9al du Facteur Cheval<\/h3>\n

Be sure to add Le Palais Id\u00e9al du Facteur Cheval to your to-do list, an architectural masterpiece by a self-taught artist<\/strong> with a passion for Baroque art and an extravagance to rival Dal\u00ed. Ferdinand Cheval spent 33 years of his life building his monument. Today, it’s a must-see attraction in the Dr\u00f4me.<\/p>\n

Visit the Miniature Proven\u00e7al Village<\/h3>\n

The miniature Proven\u00e7al village<\/a> is a unique activity to plan with your family in the Dr\u00f4me. Built by talented master santon makers<\/strong>, it is the largest creation of its kind in the world. It comprises more than 80 houses ranging in height from 1 to 1.20 metres. They were built using the most common building materials in the region: stone, wood and cement. Reviews praise how realistic the village is. Just like a trip to Provence!<\/p>\n

The Via Ferrata<\/h3>\n

The Via Ferrata du rocher de St-Julien<\/strong> is one of the most beautiful in Europe at 1700 m long. Located in the Dr\u00f4me and Vercors regions, it offers several route options, including one specially adapted for families,\u00a0 Pitchouno (“the small”). At 170 m long, you can finish this basic family route in 30 minutes to 1 hour. A unique experience out in nature!<\/p>\n

Hiking in Gueulards Canyon<\/h3>\n

This beautiful and unique hike in the Vercors<\/strong> will take you through gorges and steep cliffs. The narrow passages and cairns you will have to cross will certainly make your head spin. This moderately difficult 10.2-kilometre hike can be completed in less than 4 hours.<\/p>\n

Rappelling Down Crest Tower<\/h3>\n

Rappelling down this historic monument, the tallest dungeon in France<\/strong>, is a unique experience. You’ll descend the 52-metre tower under the supervision of state-certified professionals. Due to the popularity of this unique attraction, you will need to book in advance.<\/p>\n

Trapeze Lessons<\/h3>\n

Located in Marg\u00e8s in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, Les Siamangs trapeze school<\/strong> offers classes for all ages from March to December. The classes are taught by experienced instructors. You\u2019ll master basic tricks such as the hock, split and simple pass during your very first lesson.
